Director of Advancement

The Director supports Prairie View's mission with activities that enhance patient acess to services, facilitiates utilization by referral sources, assists clinical staff with the services they need for communication with their customers and creates public awareness, involvement and financial support.  This is all accomplished through inviting financial contributions from foundations, state and federal sources, individuals, businesses and churches,  through the coordination of a comprehensive development office; major gift grant proposals, annual fund appeals and special project/campaign appeals.

Responsibilities:

Gift development planning

Prepare/maintain information about prospective donors and grant making sources

Develop grant/gift proposal case statements and support materials

Develop individualized grant proposals/solicitation action plans

Identify prospective major gift funding sources/contributors

Implement foundation/donor contacts

Gift Management:

Review reports

Assure proper allocation of restricted gifts

Assist in planning annual donor event

Development/Marketing Planning

Provide oversite/supervision to Advancement/Marketing staff

Assist in strategic planning related to Advancement/Commications/Marketing

Qualifications:

Master's degree in relevant field preferred.  Five years of experience in fundraising and grant writing required.  Experience in healthcare or human services fundraising preferred.  Development skills desired include major gift grant writing, communication and interpersonal relationship skills.  Must be able to work with advanced computer applications; must hava a valid Kansas drivers license, be willing to travel unaccompanied and be able to traverse all types of terrain, elevations and building accesses.
