TITLE AND CLASSIFICATION
SUMMARY: Under general supervision from the Director of Development, coordinates agency donor and fundraising events. Assists in the management of the donor database and prepares comparative analysis of donor giving and event activities.
Assists the Director of Development in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support the work of the agency.
Is involved in the creative process and distribution of all fundraising appeals.
Active participant on the Development team in planning of fundraising events working with staff and volunteers as a clearinghouse to assure details are accomplished as assigned.
Assists organizers of outside events as necessary adhering to the agency mission.
Identifies and assists with implementation in securing event sponsorships.
Designs and prepares comparative analysis of appeals and initiatives. Develops and plans future activities based on the analysis.
Manages daily work activities including time, materials and expenses to best optimize the resources available.
Prepares Net Communities segmented, template electronic communications and solicitations utilizing agency branded graphics and messaging.
In collaboration with Communications and Marketing, assists with social media channels geo-targeted campaigning for donor cultivation.
Assists the Director of Development in creating new fundraising events and cultivation strategies to meet the funding needs of the agency.
Enters donor information in Raiser’s Edge, creates acknowledgement letters and exports statistical information from database and compiles into readable reports to be used for analyzing all aspects of development and marketing.
Makes and/or assists with donor visits for the purposes of cultivation and solicitation.
Assists with the process of receiving and distributing in-kind donations to various programs.
Assists with the processing of mail and batching contributions in donor database.
Performs a variety of clerical duties, which may include typing documents, entering data for record keeping, and/or operating copier, facsimile machine, or postage machine.
Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Development.
EDUCATION: Undergraduate college degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in sales, development, event planning and the use of fundraising software. Previous experience working in Raiser’s Edge preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheet database skills including ability to create, builds and generates reports. Strong organizational, writing and speaking skills to work with staff, volunteers and public.
Must be detail oriented with the ability to apply logic and discretion while handling multiple priorities.
May make some alterations when following established procedures.
Proficiency progress for this position is six months.
COMMUNICATION: Continual communication with staff and external contacts to provide, obtain, or discover information, and advises or persuade.
EXPOSURES: Controlled inside work environment with noise/vibrations from general office equipment. Minimal exposure to fumes/dust/odors.
Work type: Moderate, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of
force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Climbing/Balancing/Freedom to Move: Minimally required to move about office. Sit about 75 percent of time.
Reaching: Occasional, overhead as well as horizontal and down.
Vision: Adequate to perform essential functions.
Color vision: No particular color vision requirement. Hearing: Frequently perceive nature of sounds by ear. Speech: Frequently express ideas by means of spoken word.
Eye/Hand/Foot Coordination: Frequently operates equipment requiring moderate ability.
Manual Dexterity: Frequently operates equipment requiring moderate ability.
