WGO’s Director of Development will be responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all fundraising activities of the WGO. Earned income from performances and annual fundraising events totals 55% of WGO’s annual budget. The remaining 45% (currently $400,000 per year) comes from government grants, foundations, corporations, private donors, and Board members. The Director of Development will work closely with the Board of Directors and the President & CEO to support the WGO’s mission and facilitate the company’s growth. Nov 20 - The Fundraising Effectiveness Project Releases Third Quarter Benchmark Report for Nonprofit Fundraisers
(Nov. 20, 2017) The Fundraising Effectiveness Project (FEP) released its third quarter findings and announced that both donor giving and donor retention is on a continued downward trend. FEP’s third quarter report indicates year-to-date giving through September 2017 is down by -4% compared to the same time period in 2016 and that donor retention is currently at its lowest point in five years, with an overall year-to-date retention of 45%. ... more >

The mission of the AFP Diverse Communities Conference Scholarship Fund is to help ensure that AFP programs are inclusive and supportive of diversity-related issues and concerns, to provide financial support for activities that increase understanding and awareness of diversity issues within the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and to provide financial assistance for professional development for AFP members who self-identify as coming from a diverse community and/or who are employed by grassroots organizations that primarily serve diverse populations. ... more >
